Castle Douglas Development Forum

Website design and build from Creatomatic

The Project

Castle Douglas Development Forum is a group that is working to develop the Food Town and make opportunities in the local area more accessible for local people. They were looking for a website that would provide a single access point of information and highlight the town, including news updates, events listings and a local business directory.

Our Role

The site design needed to be sympathetic to the supplied logo, with a clean, modern feel. As the site was looking to showcase a range of businesses, the Zoe kept the colours in the designs quite muted, as the content is so varied throughout the site. Between shop and brand logos, infographics and photography, we were keen to ensure that nothing would clash too badly.

The website also needed to work well on mobile as well, encouraging a younger demographic to engage with the work that the Development Forum has been doing.

The Result

Part of the brief was that they site needed to be easy to use and manage, so we created a simple custom post type for the listings directory and used our EVE events system to enable people to submit and list events. We provided training to the client to ensure that they were confident in being able to make changes to the site as required.

The final site provides an excellent resource for the town, showcasing local businesses and events, as well as allowing people to stay up to date with what the Development Forum have been working on.
