Crawick Multiverse

Website design and development by Creatomatic

The Project

Crawick Multiverse is a major restoration project using visual arts and landscape design, transforming a former open cast mine site into a public facility for visitors to enjoy. The site uses the designs and concepts of internationally renowned artist Charles Jencks, inspired by astronomy and cosmological themes.

The Crawick Multiverse Trust, a registered Scottish charity, were seeking an updated site that was both eye catching for visitors and easy to update for Trust administrators.

Our Role

A pre lockdown site visit helped give the team a clear idea of the scale and wonder of this hidden gem, near Sanquhar in Dumfries & Galloway. Job no.1 was a mini project in itself, developing the Crawick Multiverse brand for web.

Our design team then set to work on concepts that really showed off Crawick and its stunning landforms, making full use of their photography album and the features of WordPress’ Gutenberg editor. The illustrative site map helps add the final touch, making the site even easier on the eye.

The site also includes a full blog setup to enable staff to post updates about the site, facilities and any upcoming events.

The Result

Launched just as the facility was allowed to reopen post lockdown, we’re absolutely delighted to see the guys at Crawick able to welcome visitors back in 2020.
