Our commitment to green hosting
At Creatomatic, we’re committed to doing the right thing for the planet and our clients. We’re working towards Net Zero, sooner rather than later – our 2023 Sustainability Commitment outlines our promises for this – as we recognise the urgency for businesses to clean up every aspect of their operations.
While it’s easy to tick the ‘visible’ boxes – low-energy lighting, insulation and cycling facilities – it’s critical to take a deeper look at practices across the board. Of particular concern is website hosting, which is one of the big hidden carbon emitters in the industry. That’s a big part of the reason we’re moving all of our client’s websites to 100% renewable energy servers.
By switching to a hosting service running solely on clean energy, our clients will be able to reduce their own carbon footprints, as they too work towards reaching their own Net Zero targets.
As of the time of writing, all of our web servers are powered by 100% renewable energy.
There are other benefits to these upgrades, too. We’ve scaled up our monitoring and alerts services to make sure we know about as many problems as possible before you (or your clients) do. Our backup systems contain more layers than ever and we also beefed up our maintenance contracts too, with engineers at the data centres now on call 24/7 to help with emergency server support if we ever need it.
