Boltholes & Hideaways

Beautiful retreats in the North of Wales

Work: Boltholes & Hideaways

The Brief

Boltholes & Hideaways is a well established holiday letting agency based in North Wales. With a strong portfolio of high end, unique properties throughout the region and specialist local knowledge, the agency were seeking to improve their customer booking experience and drive direct bookings with a new website and improved functionality with SuperControl API integration.

Their existing website had been in place for some time and had taken the agency to new heights but it was time to look to the future and create a new website that would sustain their development into the future.

We wanted to preserve the established search engine footprint when migrating to the new site as they had developed a great base for their business online.

The Boltholes & Hideaways brand is also really well established and we wanted to reflect this and maintain their company aesthetic, keeping the messaging consistent for customers.

The Build

One of the key aims of the website redevelopment was to ensure that they maintained their unique style so they didn’t become too similar to other online travel agents and holiday letting agents out there, whilst also improving their UX and UI features on the new site.

Our remit was to design and build a website with SuperControl property listing integration via our own Atom software. Atom is our in-house SuperControl integration system: our tried and tested system that saves online travel agents considerable time and outlay. It gives our clients greater marketing control; helps to remove agency fees; ensures greater revenue through direct bookings; and is used worldwide by our clients.

We wanted to make sure that the new website was fast loading and easy to navigate, showcasing their beautiful portfolio, excellent media library and local knowledge.

A unique selling point on the Boltholes & Hideaways website we created was their feature for guests travelling with their dogs. We created a ‘number of dogs’ search function to filter out properties on the homepage, which showcases the properties straightaway that would be suitable for travellers with their beloved pets. We also created an illustrated, interactive map that would allow customers to search visually for their ideal holiday cottage.

We optimised the website for different audiences with clear calls to action for both guests looking to book holiday cottages in North Wales and property owners looking for an agency to manage their property.

If you’re looking for a getaway in the North of Wales, check out their website to explore some beautiful cottages and holiday inspiration.
