Brilliant Basics

A Brilliantly Basic Visual Identity

Work: Brilliant Basics

The Brief

We were excited to once again work with our clients Scottish Gymnastics to create a visual identity for their brand new Gymnastics Development Framework that empowers gymnasts to reach their full potential at every level.

Brilliant Basics is a framework with a dedicated platform hosting educational resources, tools and a library of videos. It guides coaches, gymnasts, parents and carers through the gymnastics journey from basics to brilliance, with the aim of encouraging gymnasts to enjoy learning and achieve their potential at every level, so they thrive in gymnastics and beyond.

Our Approach

We created a logo for the framework inspired by the movement of gymnasts. The design of the icon reflects the flowing, graceful motion of ribbons used in gymnastics, with sweeping lines forming a star and figure. The star itself symbolises excellence and achievement. As part of this new visual identity, we created a cohesive set of video assets designed to reinforce the viusal identity of the framework.

We’ve worked with Scottish Gymnastics as their digital partner since 2023 to support the development of a mobile first, responsive website and creating improved customer experiences for the Scottish Gymnastics stakeholders and our team loved supporting the development of the Brilliant Basics Development Framework.
