Rocks and Wheels

Trailblazing Design for a Community on the Move

Work: Rocks and Wheels

The Brief

We’ve just wrapped up a bold new brand and visual identity for Rocks and Wheels, an adventure sports centre at the heart of the Dalbeattie Regeneration Initiative.

Based in Dalbeattie’s former Primary School, Rocks and Wheels is a community-led project with big ambitions: to put the town on the map for cycling, bouldering, and outdoor adventure. From family days out to full-throttle adrenaline sessions, the centre is set to become a hub for explorers of all ages and abilities.

Our brief was to create a brand that felt local, welcoming and full of energy.

Our Approach

We took inspiration from a unique piece of Dalbeattie’s heritage, the hedgehog crest, originally featured in the town’s emblem and now used as way-markers on local trails. We evolved that into ‘Beattie’, a cheerful hedgehog mascot who’s ready to lead the way to your next adventure.

The full brand package includes a suite of logos, tone of voice guidance, and a set of flexible, easy-to-use design assets – giving the Rocks and Wheels team the tools they need to keep things consistent across social media, signage, print and beyond.
