Studio LBA

Branding and website design for a people-centric firm of architects

Work: Studio LBA

The Brief

Award-winning architecture firm Studio LBA initially came to Creatomatic to refresh their website in late 2023.

A thoughtful and long-term thinking approach was needed to capture the essence of Studio LBA’s core values of ‘People, Planet and Place’. Creatomatic were delighted to help.

Challenges

During our discovery session, we were able to identify key pain points and challenges. Studio LBA had commissioned a bespoke website before, but had been frustrated by high costs for changes and updates; and while they had a brand, it was lagging behind and was ready for a refresh.

The Studio LBA visual identity was in widespread use and well recognised. A brand refresh had to offer quantifiable improvement without losing its existing impact. To solve this, we took an evolutionary approach to the logo, adopting a ‘less is more’ approach while maintaining the overall form and shape of the wordmark.

A critical goal of the new website was the ability to keep it updated in-house without incurring substantial costs or delaying important marketing updates.

We scoped out a new sitemap for the website and created custom functionality within the WordPress ecosystem to enable a high level of user independence with regards to copy, media and layout.

This, coupled with an ongoing service partnership, ensures priority support for further updates, training, graphics and related services on an ongoing basis.

The new website and brand was launched in Spring 2024, providing a first point of contact for new and existing clients and representing the LBA brand over a variety of media.
