Flexitricity

Integrated tech:

As a trailblazer in the flexible energy industry, Edinburgh-based Flexitricity operates at the cutting edge of the UK’s transition to net zero. They partner with businesses to balance the National Grid, turning energy flexibility into a revenue stream while making the system greener. In a sector that is fast-moving, technical, and vital for the future, they needed a brand that reflected their status as industry leaders.

Flexitricity are pioneers in a high-tech sector, but their visual identity had fallen behind. The old brand felt increasingly outdated, and it no longer reflected the sophisticated, forward-thinking nature of the business.

They didn’t need to throw everything away and start from scratch, but they did need a strategic evolution. The challenge was to modernise the logo and visual identity to bring them in line with the company’s innovative DNA. Beyond aesthetics, the brand needed to work harder across a massive range of touchpoints, from high-stakes board presentations to daily social content, requiring a cohesive, scalable design system that can handle the ‘heavy lifting’ of a busy, modern marketing department.

We began with a comprehensive brand refresh, modernising their identity while still keeping it recognisably ‘Flexitricity’. The new logo centres around an icon depicting the daily energy usage of Great Britain – the ‘peaks’, embodying the innovative qualities Flexitricity is known for. We introduced a vibrant pink-to-deep-purple gradient to symbolise the energy and dynamism of the flow of power, data, and revenue. To ensure the brand remains legible and welcoming across all platforms, we also implemented a refined typographic system. This was all also communicated through their new website, designed to highlight the services Flexitricity offer.

Our partnership didn’t stop at the launch. On the back of the successful rebrand, we’ve continued to work with Flexitricity on a monthly basis, acting as an extension of their internal marketing team to ensure their brand voice remains clear, calm, and knowledgeable. This ongoing collaboration has allowed us to grow the brand in step with their ambitions, designing distinct sub-brands that are clearly a part of the Flexitricity family. From delivering a constant stream of high-quality campaign graphics and trade show materials to ensuring every board presentation is as smart and considered as the technology itself, we’ve helped Flexitricity show up with the consistency and confidence required to lead the charge into a smarter, greener future.

“Working with the team at Creatomatic has been quite the experience – in the best possible way. What began as a straightforward rebranding project has evolved into a truly collaborative working relationship, and it now feels like we have an extended team on hand.

One of the most impressive achievements has been how quickly they picked up on the tone and style we were aiming for, even after a short initial collaboration. Their understanding of our needs, combined with their genuinely helpful and proactive attitude, means we feel confident approaching them with a wide range of projects.

It’s been a pleasure so far, and we’re looking forward to continuing the journey.”
