Supporting the Association of Scottish Self Caterers

Emma Porteous 19th of November 2024

On Tuesday 12th November, Amy and James headed to the Trades Hall in Glasgow to attend the Association of Scottish Self Caterers Regional Gathering. The event was a fantastic opportunity for self-catering operators, ASSC, partners and industry experts to come together for networking and engaging discussions.

We were excited to sponsor the event at such a critical time for the industry. We have over 150 clients in the self catering and accommodation sector and now more than ever, with the challenges in new licensing legislation, the cost of living crisis all creating additional expenses, we wanted to come together with the ASSC and support our clients and the wider industry.

As well as exhibiting, Amy was asked to speak on the panel, giving tips on marketing approaches that can help your business stand out. She showcased how important your brand is when it comes to marketing your self-catering property – utilising tins of trusty baked beans to show how quickly customers are making decisions on whether or not to buy your product or services these days – and the biggest take away – you get all of 1.3 seconds to make an impression so our team were on hand to chat through how to make that 1.3 seconds count.

We loved the ASSC’s initiative to support the Glasgow SE Foodbank during the Gathering, it was great to see all the businesses who attended giving back to the community and really showcased the industry at its best.

James and Amy were grateful to be invited alongside other suppliers and partners of the industry to the event, being part of the conversation and supporting the ASSC that always go the extra mile to fight for their industry and champion the work of self catering businesses across Scotland.
