In the Spotlight: February Recap

Paul, our Lead Designer, is Langholm born and bred, and February brought the chance to breath some life into two Muckle Toon projects.
The first, the development of a new brand and identity to support a campaign to drive tourism to the town and the second, a new website for the Eskdale Hotel. The Scottish tourism industry is something we’re really passionate about and we were excited to work with another popular visitor attraction in the Museum of Lead Mining too.

Langholm
We were delighted to be involved in the branding project for Langholm recently, to help support the town’s regeneration.
Developed by our Design Lead Paul Gardner, who hails from the Muckle Toon, the end product draws on Langholm’s history with textiles and also takes influence from the unique Muckle Toun Tartan, which in itself takes cues from the town’s history and geography.
Paul said:
“Being a local lad it was great to be asked to design a new logo and brand identity for the town. We’ve seen this kind of work really lift small towns like Langholm in past projects by helping them stand out from the crowd and showcasing all that’s unique about them. We hope the new logo is something the local community can be proud of.”

Eskdale Hotel
Web design and build project for The Eskdale Hotel in Langholm – hotel and restaurant in the heart of the Muckle Toon.

Museum of Lead Mining
We’ve worked with some fantastic tourism and visitor attractions over the past couple of years and the Museum of Lead Mining was no different.
Working within the confines of the existing brand, we were able to successfully modernise the design style of the site while incorporating subtle nods to the history and geography of the area. The rough edge feel reflecting it’s industrial/mining past and the contour lines to communicate its location in the hills and place as Scotland’s highest village.
