Annan Athletic Football Club

Integrated tech:

Annan Athletic FC are an association football club plying their trade in SPFL League Two. They also hold a special place in Creatomatic history – they were the very first walk-in client we ever had when we opened our doors 14 years ago.

A community club at heart, the team is largely volunteer-led, with a dedicated media team that punches well above its weight. With more than a few football fans on the Creato team, there was plenty of excitement when this one officially kicked off.

Annan Athletic needed a modern, fully-featured club website that could serve fans, corporate partners, and the media team alike – while integrating seamlessly with existing third-party platforms. The site had to reflect the ambition of a club on the rise, without a big-budget commercial operation behind it.

The volunteer media team were also a key part of the equation – supplying a strong bank of professional photography that gave the project the visual quality it deserved.

The finished site delivered everything the club needed: a dynamic match centre, detailed player profiles, integrated ticketing, and a dedicated corporate section – all tied together through third-party platform integrations. Three years on, it remains a favourite among the team.

In year one, organic search drove 50,812 sessions with a 70% engagement rate. That’s genuinely high-quality traffic and, for a small Scottish club, that’s a real win. Pulling in over 82,000 active users in the first 12 months is a meaningful metric too.

“We wanted a professional looking website that competed with the best clubs in Scottish Football. The end product rivals and betters that of clubs playing in a higher level of football with bigger budgets.”

Neil Irving, Director
