John McNeil Funeral Directors

Caring for the community since 1948

Work: John McNeil Funeral Directors

The Brief

Stranraer-based John McNeil Funeral Directors – a long-established, fourth generation family-run business – have been caring for the community since 1948.

With a clear vision for the future – JMFD came to Creatomatic for a new visual identity and improved digital presence.

Our Approach

At the start of the project, we took time to understand the team, the business and its direction. Having recently refurbished the former St Andrew’s Church, JMFD gave us a striking source of inspiration. The architecture, especially the stained glass windows, helped shape the monogram logo and colour palette, balancing a sense of heritage with a contemporary feel.

We knew that, as a funeral director, it was essential that the online experience be as clear, calm, and supportive as possible, especially for users navigating it during difficult times. So, we focused on simplifying the structure and improving navigation, making it easier for visitors to find the information they need with ease and reassurance.

The result is a visual identity and digital presence that better reflect the care, professionalism and attention offered by the JMFD team – and one that we were proud to help bring to life.
