August Recap

Jack Ogston 5th of September 2022

August saw some big celebrations at HQ, with the team finally getting together to celebrate Creatomatic’s 10th birthday.

There’s some pretty cool work stuff too.

Garden Rooms Scotland

Garden Rooms Scotland were looking for a new website to showcase their fantastic range of garden rooms. They were looking to ensure that information on their products was easy to find, and to give a clear call to action for anyone interested in finding out more.

The design team worked closely with the client on developing a design which incorporated product imagery, and used the existing logo and branding to inform the design language. They also worked to develop illustrations for the process timeline, creating a consistent brand language across the site.

Better Lives Partnership

Better Lives Partnership is a warm and welcoming charity for young people with Autism and additional barriers, that seeks to help support young people in finding and achieving their own goals through a person centred approach.

Our designers worked closely with the client on a site that incorporates illustrative cues and existing imagery to communicate what Better Lives Partnership is all about.

We also incorporated our bespoke events system into the site, allowing BLP to easily showcase what they have coming up. Flexibility was a key part of the brief, so we built the site using WordPress, allowing the BLP team to easily edit and update the site ongoing

Prestige Holiday Cottages

Prestige Holiday Cottages is a marketing and booking agency based in the UK and specialising in luxury and upmarket holiday properties in Cornwall, Devon and the Cotswolds. We recently launched a new site with SuperControl integration to help them drive direct bookings.

ZX Lidars

A long-term client in the renewable data sector, Creatomatic worked with ZX Lidar throughout 2021-22 to create their new website. What started out life as a fairly standard ‘build-from-supplied-layouts’ project increased in scope and complexity as the project proceeded.

Working in tandem with the One Off – whose credits include clients like Nike, Sky, Sports Direct and more – we scoped out the build of an interactive, showcase website, integrating high resolution 3D render video with scroll-linked animation to explore their range of lidar products in stunning detail.

Our development team researched and developed a solution for dealing with presenting a heavy load of data in such a way that would load seamlessly and lightning-fast across the full spectrum of devices and networks, while minimising effect in terms of Cumulative Layout Shift and Largest Content Paint scoring – both critical factors for search engine positioning.

Our chosen strategy – loading optimised images on-demand in the background as pages load – meant that the final website balances load speed without losing impact.

Creatomatic turns 10

We celebrated our 10th birthday this month with a bash at our new HQ.

Happy Birthday Chris!

Happy birthday to the man that single handedly keeps Creatomatic running, Chris McWhinnie!

Saying Goodbye

It’s with sadness that we bid farewell to two of our cogs this month, with Iona and Zoe both heading off to pastures new. You might find them taking on the Borgue pub quiz together.
