Barefoot Retreats

Luxury holiday properties in Norfolk, modernised with SuperControl

Work: Barefoot Retreats

Barefoot Retreats represent and market some of the finest privately-owned cottages and self-catering properties in North Norfolk.

Having outgrown their incumbent website and with a poor mobile user experience (UX) creating issues with loss of business and drop-offs, we got to work on a plan to modernise their site and make full use of our SuperControl API capabilities. The client was also keen to have additional editorial control over the on-page content as well as default pages and posts.

Our design and development team worked closely with Barefoot to achieve the perfect balance of UX, functionality and speed, using the supplied wireframes and sitemap as a guide.

“I would highly recommend working with Creatomatic – they succeeded in bringing the project in ahead of time and on budget. A pleasure to deal with and a company we will continue to work with.”

Joel Bygraves, Marketing Consultant

The new homepage was intended to surface more content and mix evergreen elements like the feature on the client’s hotel, The Railway, with updatable elements like the collections, locations, and experiences, pulled in from elsewhere on the website. As well individual property landing pages, various collection and location landing pages were designed and built to meet this need, improving SEO performance and user experience with the ultimate aim of driving conversions.

Our knowledge and experience working with SuperControl helped us identify a number of best practice solutions to improve efficiency. Launching on time at the end of November, the final product is something both ourselves and, importantly, the client, are absolutely delighted with.
