Co-Owner / Director
james.
James’ background is a mishmash of IT, sales and marketing. He’s an ideas guy, with a never-ending stream of ways we can do things differently (often to Kit’s torment). Outside of work he’s busy juggling family life with various hazardous hobbies like mountain bikes and snowboards. All the stereotypical ‘web guy’ stuff.
He’s happiest either right in the middle of a chaotic, 100 ideas a minute strategy session or riding a bike solo in the back end of nowhere. A self-confessed coffee and beer snob.
When it comes to food, he’s allergic to shellfish, and has a strong aversion to cucumber and mushrooms – but would have your arm off for a good curry.
A born-and-bred Liverpudlian who moved to Scotland aged ten, he remains a long-suffering Liverpool supporter.
He’s a keen but untalented musician and happy being the worst guitarist, drummer or uke player in any group setting.

Get to Know james
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
It’ll be fine. Don’t overthink it – you’ll work it out once you get going.
If I’m allowed a second one: Stay away from French cars.
What’s one hobby or activity that helps you recharge?
Mountain biking.
It’s impossible to think about much else when riding on the raggy edge of something that could put you in A&E. Plus, outdoors, fresh air, exercise and a brilliant community spirit – all that good stuff.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Imposter syndrome can still kick like a horse – even 14+ years in.
If you were a colour what would you be and why?
Forest green – I’d like to think I’m normally a pretty calm when shit’s hit the fan. Does green mean calming? I don’t know – I pay other people to be good with colours!
If you could learn one completely new skill tomorrow, what would it be?
I wish I could speak a foreign language or two.
My Grandad spoke Polish, English, German, Italian and Russian fluently. I’ve managed a basic grasp of English and the ability to order two beers in a few countries.
Have you always wanted to own an agency?
I’m 45 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.
What’s a hill you’ll gently die on?
I’ve very nearly died on many hills already. Usually either on two wheels whilst listening to something by The Prodigy.
