What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?

Early on, it feels like everyone else knows exactly what they’re doing. They don’t.

Focus on doing good work, be nice to people, and keep pushing forwards. The rest tends to sort itself out.

What does the perfect weekend look like?

Weekends are for family walks and meals out with my wife and daughter… or sneaking in an afternoon watching rugby with a few pints of Guinness.

If you could learn one completely new skill tomorrow, what would it be?

This is quite random, but, I’d quite like to learn to be a barber. I love watching people have their hair cut.

Have you always wanted to be a designer?

Yes, I went to Art College in 1996 and was hooked from day one. There have been very few moments when I thought about doing anything else. I have some excellent tutors to thank for helping me discover and encourage my passion.

What’s your favourite Creatomatic moment so far?

Our first Scottish Design Awards ceremony is a favourite for me. We set out to push our design approach further, and that recognition felt like a win for all of us, my team’s talent and hard work made that moment happen.
